Former governor of Abia State, Dr. Orji
Kalu, will, on Tuesday, March 11, deliver
a lecture at the country’s foremost
citadel of learning, the University of
Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN), Enugu State.
The theme of the interactive session,
entitled: “Youth Empowerment and Good
Governance: Vital Tools for Economic
Development,” is expected to attract
participants from all walks of life.
In a statement by the organisers of the
event, the Nigeria Economic Students
Association (NESA), UNN chapter, Kalu’s
presentation will establish the critical
interconnectedness among youth
empowerment, good governance and
economic transformation.
The President, NESA, UNN chapter, Eze
Peter, explained that this critical synergy
requires a cross-pollination of ideas
between the academic community and
successful entrepreneurs.
“This nexus of academics and practical
experience about the subject informed
the profound choice of Kalu, one of
Nigeria’s youthful and successful
entrepreneurs with flourishing business
tentacles spread across countries in the
sub-region,” he added.
Apart from members of the academia
that will be in attendance, multi-
disciplinary professionals, drawn from
various sectors and countries are
expected to make explicatory
interventions during the lecture, which
holds at the institution’s main
auditorium.
Kalu, who is a leadership icon and
business mogul, is expected to draw
from his robust wealth of experience as
a highly accomplished international
businessman.
According to the organisers, the entire
UNN students are eagerly looking
forward to the lecture as it holds a lot in
store for them.
The lecture is free and open to members
of the public who must be seated by
9.30 a.m.
