 
 
Actress, Ebele Anna-Patrick, who recently blew the whistle on the Asaba 
sector of Nollywood, has exonerated movie producers and directors 
declaring that the rot is not their fault. The actress was summoned by industry players to a meeting recently amid 
rumours that she would be banned. However, sources say during the 
meeting she had exonerated DGN members, producers and movie marketers, 
declaring that she was not referring to them. “I wasn’t referring to DGN members or other registered producers in 
Asaba. Just like we know in every gathering, there must be a Judas and 
that’s why it’s pertinent that actors endeavour to work with verified 
movie practitioners. While working in Asaba, I have come in contact with
 a lot of sincere producers and directors who dare not compromise on the
 standard they have set for themselves. In fact, my mentor, Nonso Ekene 
Okonkwo, has always stressed the need for up and coming actors to strive
 to work with recognised guild members.” Ebele had declared recently in an interview that desperate actresses not
 only pay money to get roles but also sleep around with producers and 
directors. And as expected, Ebele attracted a lot of flak from producers
 and directiors who were enraged by what they described as her
